Louis J. Faller

After having several conversations during the year of 2010 with Louis Faller’s brother, Donald Faller, who is 84 years old and a 1944 Hackensack High School graduate, he sent me these two photos of his brother, Louis Faller, in his
United States Army Air Force uniform.
He sent the photos on January 3, 2011.

Let us never forget the Pilot’s sacrifice

Lieutenant Louis J. Faller, age twenty-four, was reported missing in action on
March 25, 1942.

He entered the Army Air Corps with the First Selective Service Group in the fall of 1941, and trained as a pilot.

He received his wings at Maxwell Field, Alabama, and was stationed for a while at Langley Field, Virginia,
March Field, California, and Hickok field, Hawaii.

Louis was stationed in Hawaii when he was sent out from his base to fly a mission, from which he did not return.

Louis graduated from the New Milford Junior High School in June 1933, and he was the first New Milford man to give his life in the service of his country during World War II.
